General Usage

Asparagus racemosus (root) is a widely used Ayurvedic rasayana, which increases immunity, prevents aging, enhances mental functioning, and adds vitality to body. It is also used by Ayurvedic practitioners in treatment of nervous disorders, dyspepsia, tumors, inflammation, neuropathy, and hepatopathy. Shatavari roots are bitter-sweet, emollient, cooling, and nervine tonic. It can be consumed in powder, granule, or tablet form.

Asparagus racemosus (A. racemosus) belongs to the family Liliaceae and is found at low altitudes across India. Commonly termed as Shatavari/ Shatavari, A. racemosus offers a multitude of health benefits ranging from increasing immunity to promoting fertility. Shatavari is the main Ayurvedic rejuvenating tonic for the female. Particularly the roots are termed tonic, diuretic, and galactagogue (promotes the flow of mother’s milk).
