General Usage

Cassia angustifolia, Senna, is prescribed in Ayurveda as a blood purifier, laxative for relieving constipation and to treat skin diseases. Traditionally, Senna has been identified as an herbal supplement that is light to digest, and dry in nature. It is also an active ingredient in several herbal teas, used for purging and in weight loss. Senna also has antimicrobial and anti-fungal effects.

Cassia angustifolia is an ayurvedic herb more popularly known as senna. Senna is FDA approved nonprescriptive laxative. It is widely used in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries across the world. Apart from the pods, the leaves and roots are also used in various preparations. The active components in C. angustifolia are anthraquinone derivatives and their glucosides.
