Momordica charantia (bitter gourd) fruit has been popular across the world for its benefits in Diabetes mellitus. Bitter gourd fruit contains conjugated linolenic acid which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, anti-tumor properties. Clinical studies have established anti-diabetic and hypoglycaemic effects of bitter gourd (karela).
