General Usage

Traditionally the leaves of O. gratissimum are used as digestive, carminative, aromatic, galactagogue, stomachic and tonic agent. This is taken as an herbal remedy for diarrhea, fever, and respiratory tract infections. The leaves of van tulsi are also nerve tonic and help sharpen memory.

Ocimum gratissimum, commonly known as van tulsi, is a sacred medicinal plant popular across the Indian subcontinent. It is an aromatic perennial plant in the family Lamiaceae. The leaves of O. gratissimum possesses antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, and anti-cancer activities.
