Sida cordifolia (Bala) Root is used extensively in the treatment of neurological and urinary problems, asthma, chronic dysentery, rheumatism, phthisis, etc. S. cordifolia root is used as an astringent, diuretic, and tonic. Bala root is used in treatment of neurological and urinary problems as well as blood and bile disorders.

Overview

Sida cordifolia (Bala), a perennial herbaceous plant of the family ‘malvaceae’, is grown for its medicinal usage in Ayurveda, Siddha, Homeopathy, and modern Allopathy. Bala roots are bitter, odorless, and greyish yellow. The roots are also used for the remedy of bleeding piles, cystitis, leucorrhoea, gonorrhea, chronic dysentery and asthma.
